Welcome to Clean Sweep. where we’re channelling our energy into creating a tangible impact. We plan to contribute our funds to a Mdantsane Literacy Centre, a non-profit organisation committed to addressing educational gaps in rural areas, particularly Mdantsane in South Africa. As education within South Africa continues to be inaccessible to disadvantaged groups, these donations will go to great lengths in the alleviation of the issues at the forefront in our communities. These issues are a result of inadequate infrastructure, teacher shortages, and a lack of resources.

Our initiative is straightforward yet profound: we’re raising funds by cleaning beaches. As we collect donations and funding we will partner with non-profit organisation, Sports for Lives to contribute these funds to a Literacy Centre in Mdanstane. Sports for Lives is a credible and trustworthy non-profit organisation that aims to spread positive impact through the efforts of the youth.

We cleaned Nahoon beach on 6 August 2023 and hosted a game of soccer at the beach, in an attempt to raise awareness of our pressing environmental concerns as well as the concerns of education within our rural areas. We hope this awareness reaps bountiful results in the improvement of the conditions in the rural educational sphere. The Literacy Centre plays a vital role in improving education for children. Their focus areas include providing learning materials, offering training programs for educators, and enhancing infrastructure to create a conducive learning environment.
