Short Story
We (Aaron, Jordan, Keegan, and Xavier) are a group of Grade 11 learners from Selborne College. We will be rowing for 36 hours and try to achieve 200km to raise funds.
The non-profit organisation we have partnered with is EduSport Youth, a local non-profit organisation based in East London.
The funds raised will be used to build a literacy centre for illiterate children.

Story
About EduSport Youth organisation:
EduSport organisation is a youth empowerment organisation that provides education and sport to those who need it. They empower communities to up lift the communities by creating community jobs for youth to work in schools, clubs, and afternoon academic sport programs, this ensures that everyone has access to quality education and sport. They employ unemployed youth from the community and train them as Literacy coaches or Sport coaches. Through their partnership with Masinyusane, they put the youth to work in preschools, and primary schools either as sport or literacy coaches.
Our Story:
About 80% of grade 4 learners in South Africa are functionally illiterate and being in a class of 74 children does not make it easy to help to teach each child in the classroom and make sure that every child is equipped with the right skills. As fellow Selbornians hearing about this problem we have decided to help contribute towards this problem that is rising within our communities. This campaign aims to raise funds for a school in Mdantsane which is in desperate need for a Literacy Centre. The funds raised will help to pay towards a literacy centre being built. This will help make classes smaller and teach children the basic skills that are needed. Our campaign to help raise funds is not only physically challenging but will also test us mentally as we will be completing a straight 36 hour ergo session and hoping that we can reach 200 000km’s.
