Short Story
We as a group of 4 learners from Selborne College have started this campaign to help raise funds.
These funds will be donated to Edusport in hopes to build a literacy centre in a less fortunate school than ours.
This center will be used to help educate learners by teaching them how to read and write and to better their basic literacy knowledge
We hope to receive sponsorships from family and friends to help us raise the needed funds in order for this campaign to become a success.
Any form of donation could help go a long way.
No matter how small donations are, we urge people to pitch in and help us make a difference.
Story
On the 15 of August, we are going to undergo a 22km walk from Selborne College gates and walk around East London and back to Selborne gates. When we were informed around about 80% of grade 4 learners were illiterate. After realising that they are in desperate need we as the learners partnered with the Sportsforlives Foundation and used the platform they’ve already created. We knew we had to convince people about this cause and make them understand the importance and the urgency of how much help these kids need help. We as fortunate students often take things for granted and how fortunate we really are but we must never forget to help those around us and better their lives and the future of our country.
For this campaign, we have a goal of raising R1000 with the help we gonna receive from people interested in this foundation. Sports for Lives are a non-profit organisation that strives to better children’s lives.
We really wish to have a successful campaign in order to raise the needed funds to help better the kid’s lives.
