Short Story
Our campaign is to try and raise funds to support the construction of a classroom in school in Mdanstane. A group of Selborne College learners consisting of, lwazi ,Kamva , Achuma and Joshua ,plan to participate in challenge at selborne college fitness center.
The goal of the challenge is to do over 2000 reps of different exercises including push ups and benchpress.
The challenge will happen on the 17th and 18th of August at Selborne fitness center
LO For Lives – Reps For Lives
Story
The story behind this is that over 40% of grade 4 learners are illiterate in South Africa. This is due to classes being overcrowded. The school we plan to help with partnership with lo for literacy is a school in Mdanstane that has over 70 children in one classroom. This is not a good environment for children to learn in, as they can’t have a learning experience which can be tailored towards them so that’s why many of them are left illiterate. So we plan to support the construction of a literacy centre. Our partners is EduSport Youth, a non-profit organisation founded by old Selbornian, Mr Kruger, their goal is to construct literacy centres in underprivileged school to help with the crisis we are facing as many children do not know how to read or write.
