Short Story
Megan, Hannah, and Kate are raising money for a girl’s home, Wylie House, in Durban, Kwa-Zulu Natal. Join the girls as they prepare to lace up their shoes and take on the Two Ocean’s Half Marathon challenge, they are driven by a singular purpose: to give back to a very worthy cause.
We are three Stellenbosch University students, Megan Hatton, Hannah van den Berg, and Katie Moore. Hannah and Megan are childhood friends. Kate is from Harrismith and met Megan and Hannah and became close friends at boarding school, The Wykeham Collegiate. We want to run our first half marathon to make a difference where we can in the lives of the girls of Wylie House.
We are looking to raise R15000.00 to go towards the Wylie House Netball Programme.
The Funds will go towards the following items:
- Netballs
- Netball bib sets
- Sports Kit
- Sports Shoes

Story
Wylie house is a home for girls who have come from a background of neglect, sexual abuse, mental challenges and other issues from their homes. There are currently about 40 girls ranging from the age of 3 and 18 being cared for in this home.
They rely on donations and fundraising to cover the costs of the needs of the girls. The home does receive a government grant for each girl but this realistically only covers about half of their needs.
