A teacher-team from the Clarendon and Selborne family will be participating in an epic fundraising adventure. The objective is to run from Queens College to East London over a period of four days in an attempt to raise R80 000 for the construction of the Literacy Centre.
One of the significant challenges facing youth education in Mdantsane is the lack of adequate schools. Many schools in the township are overcrowded, with inadequate resources and poor infrastructure. These schools often lack basic amenities such as toilets, libraries, and laboratories, which are essential for quality education. Moreover, the high student-teacher ratio in these schools means that students do not receive adequate attention, leading to poor academic performance.
