Short Story

We are the St Anne’s Diocesan College 1st Hockey Team.

We love playing Hockey.

We love scoring Goals.

And we dream of playing for a greater purpose than just ourselves and our school.

We are excited to announce that we are partnering with iThemba Projects.

Help us raise money to support iThemba projects, a local early childhood development center that provides a safe space of learning for children from the Sweetwater community. The name “iThemba” is a Zulu word meaning “hope”, this ‘Beacon of Hope’ supports many other creches in the community and is in need of a Toy Library. As the St Anne’s 1st Hockey Team, we would like to provide the funds for toy bags to make the Toy Library a reality!

Our GOAL:

Our goal for 2024 is activating generosity through GOAL scoring (#goalsforlives) and, thereby, to raise R15 000. The funds raised from the pledges for each goal we score will provide brand new, quality toy bags for the iThemba Project’s Toy Library which will empower disadvantaged children under the age of 5 with the toys they need for early childhood development and education.

How can YOU PARTNER with US?

Get involved and support our campaign by pledging PER GOAL scored by our team or making a ONCE OFF donation!

We firmly believe that handouts don’t simply fix poverty. However, when change is sustainable, all of us win! Together with iThemba Projects and their Toy Library, we aim to empower the community of Sweetwater’s to become the lasting change they are dreaming of

Join us in activating generosity by donating now.

Story

At iThemba Projects, we partner with the people of Sweetwaters (Mpumuza), South Africa, to transform a generation of kids and teens through education and mentoring so that they may bring hope to their community, and be a light throughout South Africa.

iThemba Projects currently runs the following four programs, a Mentorship Program, an Early Childhood Development Program, a Nutrition Program, and a Construction program.

We are passionate about working together sustainably, linking different communities, bridging the social and economic divisions created by our past, and growing, learning, and adapting as we proceed on this journey together.  We aim to bring change to and foster hope in Sweetwaters by helping this community transform itself so the people of Sweetwaters can be a light unto South Africa.
