From October 3rd to 6th, 2024, Highbury Prep School will host 16 schools for the Highbury Basketball Tournament, featuring 90 matches over three days.
Highbury’s 1st Basketball Team is thrilled to play for a cause greater than themselves. The boys will be raising funds for Egcekeni Primary in Shongweni, with the proceeds going towards essential sports equipment. The target for the campaign is to raise R20 000.00, this support will enable Egcekeni to continue participating in tournaments like the Highbury Basketball Tournament.

Story
Egcekeni Primary School is a no-fee public institution situated in the rural area of Shongweni Dam, under the Pinetown district, in the outer west of the eThekwini Municipality.
Originally built by Tongaat (Hullet) in 1962, the school was located within a sugarcane farm, isolated from the Shongweni Dam area. In 2000, the South African Department of Education relocated the school to a safer location within the Shongweni Dam area to better ensure the safety of students and staff.
Egcekeni Primary offers education for children from Grade R to Grade 9, serving a total of 457 learners.
