In 2024 Bridge House sports teams will be using the Sport For Lives platform to raise money for an organisation called Children of the Valley. A number of our sports teams will be getting involved during this season of winter sports, such as hockey, football, and netball.
Each goal that is scored during the season will be recorded, and you will be able to pledge a certain amount of money per goal scored. By doing this, we aim to raise money to help improve the lives of the underprivileged children in the Groendal community. All the funds raised will go towards the development of numerous informal schools in the Groendal community.

Story
Children of the Valley is an organization involved in educational enhancement and feeding schemes for Créches in Franschhoek, South Africa. They are dedicated to supporting and enriching the lives of the young children in the Groendal area.
Bridge House students have been involved with Children of the Valley for years now. Every week, typically, a few Bridge House students will visit the Créches and we will interact and play with them. We bring sweets and dress up toys, which they love, and it is a nice break from reality for them after being stuck in a small, confined space all day.
Partnering with Sport For Lives and harnessing the power of athletic spirit and teamwork, we aim to convert every drop of sweat and cheer into resources that uplift their present and illuminate their future. This isn’t just about fundraising; it’s about investing in these children, who deserve a bright future.
