Short Story

On the 6th and 7th of February, I will be swimming to “keep more than hope alive.” I am taking on an 8-mile (12.8 km) swim for CHOCChildhood Cancer Foundation South Africa—to raise awareness and financial support for this important cause. My goal is to raise a minimum of R10,000.

I am a second-year Accounting student at Stellenbosch University, studying with the ambition of one day opening my own business to help those less fortunate than myself. I have always had a passion for sports, especially swimming, and I believe now is the perfect time to use what I love to make a positive difference in the world.

This cause is very close to my heart. Most of us personally know—or have heard of—children and teenagers battling cancer. It is an incredibly tough journey for both patients and their families. In South Africa, many families lack access to the resources they need to face this struggle.

Please consider supporting my swim and donating to this cause. No matter the size, every contribution will help give children a better chance and provide support to families during exceptionally challenging times.

Thank you for joining me on this ambitious swim for a cause.

Your generosity will be deeply appreciated.
