Story
Following on from global Black Friday and Cyber Monday comes …… Giving Tuesday! Giving Tuesday is a global generosity movement celebrated across six continents on Tuesday 3rd December 2024.
Ground Coffee House in Hilton, KZN, has partnered with the Amathuba Foundation to celebrate generosity for the day: Get a Coffee – Give an Opportunity. All coffee sales throughout the day go towards helping the Amathuba Foundation facilitate ‘opportunity’ for high school learners from financially difficult backgrounds.
“A single opportunity can change the trajectory of a child’s life, unlocking their full potential and bringing hope. But opportunity alone is not enough. That hope needs to be looked after and guided well, through mentorship.” (Fabrice Nahimana – Previous SACS Bursary student)
The Amathuba Foundation, currently based in the KZN Midlands, is committed to:
- Identifying boys and girls from partner primary schools who have the talent, drive and work ethic to succeed in some of our country’s best high schools. These are their Mentees.
- Raising the shortfall funds needed to pay for opportunities for their selected Mentees at top high schools.
- Walking alongside their Mentees through personalised and loving mentorship, allowing them to make the most the opportunity.
- Opportunity + Mentorship = Truly successful individuals fulfilling their potential.
Read more about the work that they do here, and follow them on social media.
See you on Tuesday the 3rd December at Ground Coffee House.
